Tea Ceremony & Clay Workshop

Fri Feb 22, 10:30am - 12:30pm

£5 per participant: click here to book

Artist Fliss O’Neill invites you to make a clay pot and sample teas at the Museum of Royal Worcester in a workshop for families and groups inspired by Meadow Arts exhibition The Precious Clay.

This workshop begins with a look at the ritual of having tea together, the origins and symbolism behind a traditional tea ceremony and a chance to sample different types of tea.

Fliss will then teach you how to make a basic clay ‘pinch pot’ and help you look at ways to enhance and develop the basic form. The aim then is to collaboratively make a set of pinch pots and a clay tray that represents the family/group. Work can be fired and collected at a later date.
