One of India's most celebrated contemporary artists, Ravinder Reddy fuses the Hindu sculptural tradition with a contemporary pop sensibility. His Gilded Head has a heraldic presence that, in this context, reinforces the opulence of Kedleston Hall as well as underlining the perceived 'exoticism' of India.

Ravinder Reddy

Reddy gained his BFA and MFA in sculpture from M.S. University, Baroda, in 1975-82. He received a Diploma in Sculpture from Goldsmith's in London in 1983 and also pursued a course in Ceramics from the Royal College of Art, London in 1984. Since then he has had a number of important solo shows across the world, including at the Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburg.
