These three ‘shields’ have been produced using a digital program to recreate a hand-carved style. Mixing traditional crafts and customs with new technologies, from digitally generated wood carvings to woodland-themed computer games, they synthesise the old and new, city and countryside, into their own expression of folk art for the modern age old roughness of nature’.

Juneau / Projects

Juneau / Projects were formed in 2001 by Ben Sadler and Philip Duckworth. Based in Birmingham, they have exhibited nationwide and internationally. Their work engages with people and folk histories, bringing together performance, sculpture and installation. They have worked with the Tate, Ikon Gallery, Grizedale Arts, Tatton Biennial and were included in the British Art show 6.
