Kathleen Herbert - Stable

Super 16mm film. Duration 7' 56"

Kathleen Herbert

Kathleen Herbert explores the stories inherent in the spaces around us, using video installation to reveal and reconstruct narratives. Herbert researches the political and social histories of places in making her work, and the uncovered information informs the resulting artwork. A reinterpretation of the location can occur during this process, offering an alternative reading of the spatial history of the site.

Kathleen Herbert's exhibitions include Fine Form at Cheltenham Museum & Art Gallery, UK in 2011 and, in 2010, Restless Time, Museum Sheffield, UK, VOLTA, New York, USA (solo presentation), Fantastic, North Dakota Museum of Art, USA and Urban Fragment, Collyer Bristow Gallery, London. In 2009 her works were shown in Sweden, Norway and at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London. Kathleen is based in London and has an MA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College, London.
