Julia Barton

Julia Barton is a sculptor and installation artist with a particular affinity for plants and other natural forms, coupled with a fascination with technical and scientific advances and the minutiae of construction techniques and materials.

Since creating sculptures and installations for Levens Hall, Chaumont-sur-Loire (France) and the Westonbirt Festival, more recent works include; Greenfield: an installation of 120 flowers made from reclaimed and recycled materials to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Angel of the North, commissioned by Gateshead Council; Wallington Expedition: a two day walking performance at a National Trust property and Heavy Plant Crossing, perambulating sculpture and performance at Chelsea Fringe Festival.
